I'm River Strumwasser, a current professional student at Cornell University. I am graduating with an MPS in Data Science and Applied Statistics in May (2026). I entered this program through an early-credit program, after graduating with two BSs in Environment & Sustainability and Biometry & Statistics last December (2025).
Last summer, I took summer courses to meet these accelerated academic goals. In previous summers, I worked various roles related to finance, data management, and market analysis. Most recently, this includes a role as a teaching assisstant for Cornell's – CS 1110 (Introduction to Computing: A Design and Development Perspective) which is a course in Python, and work doing data replication for Cornell ILR's LDI replication lab.
My academics have focused on statistical theory and computing applications, as well as sustainable thinking and finance. Through my education, I have developed deep skills in SAS, R, Python, GIS, and more. The team-based environments I've been surrounded by throughout my life have given me additional skills in collaboration, managing team dynamics, and problem-solving. Thus, I am able to blend rigorous technical skills and knowledge with strong communication and collaboration.
If you are looking for someone with skills in statistical computing and/or who can work well on a team, I would love to connect – especially for opportunities in data science or environmental finance.
